The Dupo Police Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating the death of Cody Rhodes (age 37). At approximately 11:32am, officers responded to the 100 block of North 2nd Street for a report of multiple gun shots. There they found two people, Cody Rhodes and another individual, who had both been shot. Both people were transported to the hospital. Cody Rhodes died at the hospital from his injuries. The other person had non-life threatening injuries.

During this investigation, it was determined that the three suspects were involved in an illegal firearm sale at the site of the shooting. While doing so, they displayed additional firearms that lead to gunfire and, ultimately, the death of Cody Rhodes.
