The Brentwood Police Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating a possible kidnapping with foul play suspected. At approximately 7:13pm, police officers responded to a residence in the 8800 block of Wrenwood when a woman reported her 22 year-old daughter was missing. Based upon information provided by the caller and evidence at the scene, it was suspected the 22 year-old daughter may have been kidnapped and she was entered as a missing person.
As the investigation continued, the 22 year-old woman was located. She had not been kidnapped and she was not injured. The 22 year-old woman admitted to staging the scene to make it appear she had been kidnapped. The woman said her parents have a low opinion of her husband. The 22 year-old woman staged her kidnapping and was going to remain missing for a day or two and then be “rescued” by her 26 year-old husband. After her “rescue”, her husband would become a hero in the eyes of her parents and increase his stature with them.
The 22 year-old woman and her 26 year-old husband were both charged with Filing a False Police Report.
